Before getting inside your car, you need to understand the mandatory minimum coverage of car insurance required in each province in Canada. Car Insurance is divided into 2 parts. The first component is Liability, which deals with the financial responsibilities associated with injuring others. Most provinces require the liability coverage. The second component is the car insurance itself. The Comprehensive coverage deals with the damage to your car that was not the result of a car accident/collision such as: • Theft • Fire • Vandalism • Natural disasters • Riots • Collision protection pays for the losses that are caused by a collision/accident; this is usually mandated by banks or sometimes leasing companies.
